Petrykivka Art Cards
These hand painted greeting cards are blank inside, ready for your special message. In the set of six, each card is different, each is an original painting, each is signed by the artist, Ludmilla Bondarenko. These are dual purpose: send a special message to a friend using the enclosed pastel envelopes, then remind the friend that the card can be framed as an original painting! The style of painting is called "petrykivka", a traditional Ukrainian art form originating in the Poltava Oblast, town of Petrykivka in the 18th century. Subject matter is primarily flowers and birds. Similar to "tole" painting, each brush stroke blends two colors to get the distinctive shading and intricate detail that characterizes this style. Each card is 4.5" x 6".

Petrykivka Painting
These original paintings are done by Ludmilla Bondarenko, who, at age 19, won a competition to be named "Best Young Artist" in Ukraine. She is a card-carrying "Master" of Folk Art, specializing in the art of "petrykivka" painting. These paintings are done in acrylic, signed by the artist, and make a wonderful addition to a bright breakfast room. Let us pick one for you. If you like, Ludmilla will do custom colors for you.
